Prise à partir d’un axe perceptif précis, cette photographie d’une bâtisse Cubaine, fixe la découpe architecturale d’une tête de mort formée par la superposition visuelle d’un balcon et de deux fenêtres. Cette photographie met en jeu le caractère visuel de l’opposition figure-fond à travers la forme humaine et l'architecture. Ici, la figure humaine tout à la fois se dément et se révèle, se voue au lieu dans la plus entière dissemblance avec lui-même, le défigure pour l'envahir monstrueusement.

Taken along a precise line of view, this photograph of a hulking Cuban building captures the architectural outline of a skull formed by the visual superimposition of a balcony and two windows. The shot brings into play the visual character of the figure/background opposition through the human form and architecture. Here the human figure both contradicts and reveals itself, devotes itself to the site in the greatest dissimilarity with itself, disfigures it in order to monstrously take it over.
